In light of all of the natural disasters that have recently been occurring, this ministry has been led to begin organizing groups of people that would be available to assist those that have been affected by the natural disaster. Several teams have assisted in cleanup following fires in California, and hurricane relief in areas affected by both Hurricane Katrina and Rita. These teams probably will not go in immediately following the disaster, but instead will go into areas after first-response teams have gone and also will target areas that may be forgotten by national response teams. We will keep in touch with area churches to determine greatest areas of need. Tasks thus far have been: tree removal, roof repair, ceiling replacement, rebuilding homes, and sawmill operations.
This ministry began in Julesburg, Colorado several years ago with a vision to help where help was needed—whether it be locally or across the United States. Locally, this ministry opened a teen center in Julesburg, Colorado so that the youth of the community might have a positive and safe place for activities.
